After activating the iPhone 4 the biggest thing that stood out to me was the 960 X 640 resolution display on iPhone 4, compared to the 480 x 320 display on the 3GS. Comparing the iPhone 4 to any of the previous versions is like comparing an iPhone to a basic phone.
They added a front facing camera to the phone as well. The front camera can serve two purposes one is video chat and the other is for self portraits.
One way to access video chat is Facetime it is the built in video chat client for jailbreaking an iphone do. One of the drawbacks is that you and the other person must have an iPhone 4, and both must be connected to a WiFi hotspot in order for it to work.
The other way is a free app from the app store called Skype, and with Skype you can chat to any Skype compatible device and Skype will also work over 3G. Skype is also completely free.
They have also improved the camera when going to iPhone 4. The 3GS has a 3 megapixel camera and the iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel camera. They have also improved the video from VGA quality video to HD video in 720p.
The processor is much faster with the same processor that is being used in the iPad which is approximately 1GIG. Having used the 3GS and what does jailbreaking an iphone do. I can say the latter is much faster.
